Materials
The main material is common alder which is durable and has an attractive pattern and colour. Common alder was used in the old days for building the underwater parts of piers. So it suits well for garden funriture.
I also use nut tree or hazel which is even more durable, even when not barked. As a unique material I also use driftwood found from the seaside.

Surface treatment
The furniture is treated fith natural oils. When darker tones are required, pine tar is added.
